Herdade Val Poço

Situated between Pavia and Arraiolos, HVP is located on 724 hectares of land, producing olive oil, cereals and cork as well as pasturing sheep, such as merinos. There are seven small reservoirs which can be used for fishing or duck shooting.
The accommodation consists of two traditional farm cottages, “Home of the Hare” and “Partridge Nest”, decorated with local painted furniture. There is a large garden with swimming pool, a chapel, common room with fireplace, stables and kennels.
The relay has been open for hunting since 1995 within present-day regulations. Indigenous game and fowl abound in complete freedom on the property, attracted by the many ponds and plentiful food.  Local styles of hunting and shooting are practiced over 330 ht for the hares, partridges, quail, robins, pigeons and ducks.
The domain is 3 km from the village of Pavia, about 16 km from Arraiolos and Mora, 38 km from of Estremoz, 40 km from Évora, and within close proximity of Montargil and Maranhão dams where nautical sports such as water-skiing can be practiced.
Many activities are available on the domain such as hiking, bike rides, horse riding and bird watching. The Alentejo region contains many places of interest to visit including megalithic sites. Local churches are beautifully decorated with Azulejos, and there are many restaurants where excellent traditional cuisine is served.
